You can drag model elements from the Create Diagram Contents gallery and drop them into diagrams or create them using the carousel or a diagram element which already exists.
Diagram exists, is opened and reserved for editing.
The new element needs to be dragged to a diagram element which can be its owner, e.g. also onto the diagram itself.The mouse pointer shows
if this prerequisite is not fulfilled.
The Create Diagram Content group in the Design tab contains a gallery with the elements' icons; these can then be created in the respective diagram type using drag-and-drop.
It is also possible to drag elements from the New from Template drop-down list and drop them in the diagram; the list can be found at the bottom of the gallery's scroll bar.
Innovator makes it easy to create certain diagram elements by automatically creating an owner when the first diagram element is created, e.g. a process is automatically created when the first task is created. However, other tasks then need to be dragged to an existing owner.
The diagram element is inserted in the diagram and added to the model structure. A unique name is created and selected for elements with names.
The diagram element is renamed. An error message appears if the name entered is not unique.

Please ensure that the mouse pointer is within the drop-down list when selecting the new element.
